(ANSA) – VENICE, 03 DEC – After the discussions on Fabrizio Plessi’s technological tree, this year we return to tradition. Piazza San Marco in Venice kicked off Christmas with the inauguration of a thirteen meter tree. In the presence of the institutions and representatives of the police, the mayor Luigi Brugnaro thanked “all those who have stood up to the story we have had, big water, pandemic, we are working to make it, thanks to all, those who clean the piazza, the people who have shown service and self-denial towards others. A big thank you and a big Merry Christmas, we must come out more united and friends, may it be a Christmas of relaunch “. The hostess AnnaPaola Rey then added: “Also beware of a city that is too lonely, which is the most beautiful in the world”.
The natural tree was positioned between Palazzo Ducale and the Marciana Library, but the Christmas lights were installed throughout the Marciana area, illuminating the Procuratie Vecchie and Nuove and Calle Larga XXII Marzo up to Campo Santa Maria del Giglio. The lights will decorate Venice until “Shrove” Tuesday, 1 March 2022, the last day of Carnival. (HANDLE).
