Republicans in the US Senate demand that President Joe Biden punish Russia with sanctions, including against Nord Stream 2. They blocked the adoption of the defense budget of their country due to the fact that the Democrats did not make the appropriate amendments to the document.

“The Republicans are doing this so that the Democrats will introduce 18 amendments on sanctions against the Russian Federation to the same draft budget for next year. If all these sanctions are adopted, all these amendments are adopted, then the Kremlin will have gigantic diplomatic and especially financial difficulties,” – he said.
According to the journalist, the leadership of the democratic Senate does not want to accept these amendments, because they are afraid of complications in relations with Germany.
“They are confident that if the amendments against Nord Stream 2 are adopted, the US relations with the Germans will be greatly destroyed.”, – he said.
