Covid: 72-year-old unvaccinated dies in Lecce, contagion during dinner

(ANSA) – LECCE, DEC 05 – A 72-year-old man from Parabita, in Salento, died in the Dea di Lecce where he had been hospitalized since last November after contracting the infection from Covid 19, probably during a dinner with friends. He was not vaccinated. The news was confirmed by the mayor of the Salento municipality. The 72-year-old – from what we learn – had always postponed the appointment with the vaccination unlike his wife and two children, one of whom lives in Germany, all vaccinated.

One of the children is positive but asymptomatic and is in trustee quarantine at home. After contracting the virus, the 72-year-old’s conditions had immediately appeared very serious, so much so as to make it necessary to be admitted to intensive care at the Dea, where he died and where three other friends of his are hospitalized, also not vaccinated and infected on the same occasion. In Parabita, out of almost 9 thousand inhabitants, there are 23 infections, limited to 9 family areas.
