The carabinieri of the Operational Unit of the Rome-Montesacro Company, as part of an investigation coordinated by the Public Prosecutor’s Office of Rome, carried out a precautionary custody order in prison against a twenty-nine year old considered seriously suspected of the intentional murder of Giancarlo Masala.
According to what was reconstructed, the young man, with a passion for boxing, hit him with a slap during a fight that took place in the Rustica area, on 5 October 2020. Masala was found outside his home lying on the ground. Hospitalized for a severe cerebral hemorrhage, he remained in a coma for a year, until the day of his death on 17 October. The causes of the dispute have yet to be clarified. It seems that the two, who lived in the same area, knew each other.
