(ANSA) – BARADILI, 16 DEC – Baradili capital of e-sport, electronic sport. The smallest town in Sardinia, with 76 inhabitants, will be the capital of Rebirth Sardinia on Saturday, a Call of Duty tournament played by 20 of the greatest Italian professional players and as many Sardinian boys.
Objective: to relaunch research supported by the Municipality of Baradili and conducted by Nabui Società Benefit on the role that video games can have for the rebirth of small communities and sensitive territories. Among the professional gamers who will take part in the Rebirth Sardegna tournament also Marco Filograsso, @ savyultras90, professional gamer, one of the most qualified players globally, creator and partner of Twitch, the Amazon platform dedicated to entertainment in the gaming world, who will join one of the guys from Baradili.
The project, which began remotely in 2020 during the pandemic, with the involvement of the young people of the community, continued in 2021 with greater force and with an activity carried out together with the elderly of the country: a group of over 60 participated in an experimental program of eSports for the third age edited by Nabui. “We strongly believe that the creativity of the children of the town can be an engine of development and cohesion for the whole community” added Marianna Camedda, new mayor of Baradili. “For this reason, an important chapter in our programs is reserved for investment in the creation of innovative meeting spaces” (ANSA).
