Covid: Taranto, mandatory outdoor masks from 20/12 to 9/1

(ANSA) – TARANTO, DEC 17 – The Prefectural Commissioner of the Municipality of Taranto, Vincenzo Cardellicchio, has signed a contingent and urgent ordinance which establishes, from 20 December to 9 January next, the obligation to wear a mask outdoors in main streets of the village, the historic center and other commercial areas “even in the absence of crowding situations and regardless of any reference to interpersonal distance”. The violation of the provision, implemented as a measure to contrast the diffusion of the Covi19, is punished with a pecuniary administrative sanction from 400 to one thousand euros.

In the ordinance, Cardellicchio points out that on the occasion of the upcoming Christmas holidays there will be an intense influx of people with consequent difficulties in guaranteeing interpersonal distancing in the streets of the center and in the usual meeting places. Thus arises the need to adopt restrictions to avoid the possibility of contagion as much as possible. (HANDLE).
