(ANSA) – PESCARA, DECEMBER 18 – In the light of today’s data, in Abruzzo the occupancy rate of intensive care beds rises again and reaches the limit threshold of 10%, while that relating to the area remains unchanged at 9%. critical, against a yellow zone threshold of 15%. The weekly incidence of infections per hundred thousand inhabitants continues to increase and rises to 186 (limit threshold 50). If all three parameters for the yellow zone must exceed the limit values, at the moment only the one relating to admissions in non-critical areas is still compatible with the white zone.
At the territorial level, the highest numbers continue to be those of Teramo: the incidence is 227. Following, with 182, the Pescara area, rapidly deteriorating; in the Adriatic capital alone, the parameter is 201, the highest figure in the last nine months. Then there are the Chietino, with 173, and the Aquila, with 156.
The numbers, although worsening, confirm the effectiveness of the vaccination campaign. The last time the incidence of contagion was at values similar to those of today, the data on hospitalizations was – both for intensive care and for the non-critical area – between six and seven times higher than the current one. The average number of deaths was also much higher than the current one: in the last week there were six deaths; in the same seven days of 2020 there were over 94. (ANSA).
