Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine (NSDC) Oleksiy Danilov called the condition for the introduction of martial law in Ukraine. According to him, it depends on the circumstances that will occur in the country.

Danilov said this in an interview with Apostrophe.

The NSDC Secretary noted that today there is no need to introduce martial law, but if it appears, the decision will be made immediately.

“I would not frighten people now with the introduction of martial law. Decisions will be made depending on the circumstances that will be in the country today. Today I can say that there are no such circumstances. And if they appear tomorrow, then appropriate decisions will be made right away, no one will not hesitate with this “– said the secretary of the NSDC.

Moreover, such a situation that took place in 2014, when the military did not defend their country – this will definitely not happen, he said.

Danilov recalled that when the Washington Post reported about a large concentration of Russian military personnel at the border, Ukraine made it clear that it possesses information.

“We clearly understand what is within a radius of 200 km from our border, namely the border, and not the line of contact with the Russian Federation. quantity, we know what they are equipped with. We have all this under control, and we receive information every day from the relevant institutions on this matter. Today we do not see such a danger. “– explained the secretary of the NSDC.

At the same time, he noted that such a danger may arise tomorrow. It is not known what is in the head of the people sitting in the Kremlin. Danilov added that Ukraine will not liberate Donetsk and Lugansk regions by military means, because it realizes the number of human casualties that will lead to such a decision.

“For the Russians, the expression was known that“ women will give birth. ”We value the life of each of our people, and it hurts us a lot when we lose people at the front.”, – he said.

The threat of the Russian invasion of Ukraine

  • The Washington Post and Bild published “maps of the invasion” of the Russian army into Ukraine almost simultaneously. As noted by the media, Russia plans to launch an offensive in early 2022, “but Putin has not yet made a decision.”
  • Against the background of the growing threat from Russia, which continues to pull its troops to the borders of Ukraine, Latvian Foreign Minister Edgars Rinkevichs said that the West should send Russia a “decisive signal” to keep it from invading Ukraine.
  • Defense Minister Alexei Reznikov explained how to thwart Russia’s attack on Ukraine. He stressed that the current escalation story is similar to the spring one, but no one knows for sure what is in the minds of the “Russian leaders.”
