Ponte Genova: hearing postponed to January 28, suspended prescription

Turin, gives birth during a brain surgery:

(ANSA) – GENOA, DEC 28 – The preliminary hearing on the collapse of the Morandi bridge has been postponed to January 28 (14 August 2018, 43 victims). This was decided by the judge for the preliminary hearing Paola Faggioni accepting the petition of some lawyers of the accused pending the ruling of the Supreme Court on his objection set for January 21st. The judge has ordered the suspension of the prescription for this period. Prosecutors Massimo Terrile and Walter Cotugno had given a favorable opinion on the postponement on condition that the prescription was suspended for this period. The lawyers had refused Judge Faggioni because, in their opinion, he had already expressed an opinion on the collapse of the Morandi bridge in the order in which he had issued restrictive measures in the context of the investigation into the dangerous noise-reducing motorway barriers, born from the developments of that on the viaduct disaster. The appeal court had rejected the request and the lawyers had challenged it by appealing to the Supreme Court.

If today’s hearing had continued, the prosecutors would have spoken to illustrate the reasons why they are asking for the indictment of the 59 defendants as well as the two companies Aspi and Spea (the latter was in charge of maintenance for Autostrade). (HANDLE).
