(ANSA) – BOLOGNA, 03 JAN – They canceled the wedding 36 hours after the ceremony because the bride’s mother tested positive for Coronavirus and, due to contacts with her, the future spouses also had to remain in isolation. Now they intend to ask for damages for an alleged mismanagement by the hospital, in particular in the communication of positivity to the elderly. The story, which took place in Ferrara, dates back to about a month ago and is reported by Nuova Ferrara.
The woman, 70, suffered abdominal pain a few days before her daughter’s wedding. After consulting the general practitioner, she went to Cona’s emergency room. After some tests, including the swab, the woman was examined and discharged with some prescriptions. But the symptoms continued and the next afternoon he decided to go back to the emergency room and at the triage he learned that the swab the day before had given a positive result. She would have been told that the positivity had been communicated to her with a text message, actually received, but with a code through which to access a system and then have the result. The woman, whose conditions for Covid-19 syndrome were serious, was hospitalized for about ten days.
Now the daughter has turned to a lawyer, the lawyer Denis Lovison, to ask for the moral and material damages for the missed marriage (the costs for the restaurant, flowers, etc.) and then it will also be assessed that the symptoms and having discharged the woman, explains the lawyer to ANSA, could represent a risk for the 70-year-old, moreover in a period in which the tracking and organizational problems of these days were not yet there.
As for the wedding, the couple has not yet set a new date. (HANDLE).
