(ANSA) – TERMOLI, JANUARY 05 – The high school students of Termoli, Larino and Campobasso returned to Molise and were stuck at Christmas and New Year’s Eve in Malta due to the positivity to Covid of some on the day of departure for the return home. The group, including the seven boys from the Tiberio Institute in Termoli, landed last night at Pescara airport.

The young people were on the island for Erasmus and on December 22nd they should have returned to Italy. Following a swab before departure, for some the result was positive. During Christmas the students were always followed by the teachers of the Termoli high school who, with videos and continuous contacts including an online toast, never left them alone. Yesterday, subjected to a molecular swab, they were all negative and, therefore, they left by plane to return to Molise. The trip went well and, despite a little bit of experience, they are delighted to hug their families and friends again.

“It was a very complicated situation – explains the Director of Boccardi Tiberio, Concetta Cimmino. Our boys were forced to spend the holidays away from family and loved ones. Our Institute, however, acted as a real community. We have had constant contact with them, we have written, talked and, when necessary, we have encouraged and supported them. We have made two video chats with all the teachers and students: one on Christmas Eve and the other on New Year’s Eve. We could not leave them alone – he concludes thanking the authorities -: “the Italian Embassy in Malta is always close to the needs of students. And I want to dedicate a final thought to them: we want to embrace you soon “. (ANSA).
