What not to do on Christmas 2022: the main prohibitions of the day

Christmas 2022: holiday traditions

On the eve of Christmas, the Orthodox concludes the many-day Nativity Fast. And already on January 7, meat dishes in abundance are served on the table, as well as rich kutia seasoned with butter or cream.

At Christmas, people traditionally decorate the house with icons, towels, candles, decorated with fir trees, which symbolize the gospel tree. Our ancestors also put in the house didukh – sheaf of wheat

The main Christmas tradition is caroling and creating a den. Carolers go from house to house

Nativity of Christ: what not to do

    and poor people;

  • despite folk traditions, the church does not welcome fortune-telling at Christmas.
