Snow on the Umbrian Apennines, some flakes even in the plains

(ANSA) – PERUGIA, 09 JAN – Umbria under the snow, which is also falling in some flat areas of the region.

However, the most abundant rainfall is recorded on the Apennine ridge, from Gubbio to Castelluccio di Norcia, passing through Colfiorito. In the mountainous areas there is a few centimeters white blanket, while in the rest of the territory – including the historic center of Perugia – the snow has whitened the roofs and some streets without creating particular inconvenience.

Traffic police recorded some traffic problems (but without accidents) on the Somma, Verghereto, Contessa and Colfiorito passes for vehicles without adequate equipment, such as chains or winter tires.

The firefighters of the Gaifana detachment intervened on Mount Cucco to retrieve three people on board a car.

In the afternoon a few flakes also fell on the western side of Umbria, including in Città della Pieve. (HANDLE).
