(ANSA) – MILAN, 14 JAN – The hospital at the Fair dedicated to the most serious Covid patients in need of intensive care reopens in Milan. The first patient, a man, arrived late in the morning. At the moment – as far as we know – it is the only hospitalization in the structure, which is managed by the Polyclinic.
The first two activated modules have 15 beds each.
Here some of the new requests for hospitalization will be accepted for patients who need to be intubated, in order to ‘lighten’ the intensive therapies of Lombard hospitals and to be able to dedicate them to patients with other pathologies.
This is the third time that the temporary structure set up at Fieramilanocity, in the Portello district, is activated to deal with the Coronavirus emergency. Coordination is entrusted to the Milan Polyclinic, which provides technical, medical, administrative, pharmaceutical and support staff for its management, in close collaboration with the Directorate General for Welfare of the Lombardy Region.
The health personnel (anesthetists and critical area nurses) are made available by the Polyclinic and the Large Metropolitan Hospital Niguarda as well as by various other accredited public and private structures. (HANDLE).
