The fifth president of Ukraine, the leader of the European Solidarity, Petro Poroshenko, had his passport taken away at passport control at the Kiev airport.

This was announced by the People’s Deputy Alexei Goncharenko. He said that they were met at the airport by investigators from the State Bureau of Investigation.

Poroshenko himself on the air of the TV channel “Ukraine 24” said: “For more than 10 minutes, the border guards do not allow us to enter the territory of Ukraine without explaining any reasons. I think this is a provocation that incites mass actions. We call on the border guards not to follow the criminal orders of the Office of the President and to ensure my constitutional right as a citizen of Ukraine – access to the territory of Ukraine”.

After some time, the politician’s passport was returned and passed through foreign control.

Poroshenko, leaving the airport, turned to his supporters. First of all, he told them that the border guards “established his identity.”

“They took away my passport. They explained that they had to identify me. Because they have big doubts that I am Poroshenko. They checked my regular national biometric passport for more than 15 minutes, developing a scenario for not allowing me to enter the territory of Ukraine. So much they were waiting for us, they are so afraid of us”, said the politician.
