(ANSA) – TRIESTE, 20 JAN – In Friuli Venezia Giulia, in the week from 12 to 18 January, a worsening performance was recorded for currently positive cases per 100 thousand inhabitants, equal to 4,270, and an increase was highlighted of new cases, equal to 16.6%, compared to the previous week. The beds in the medical area and in the intensive care area occupied by Covid-19 patients remain above the saturation threshold, equal to 34.1% and 24% respectively. This is what emerges from the weekly monitoring of the Gimbe Foundation. In Fvg the percentage of the population that has completed the vaccination cycle is 78.7% (Italy average 79.6%) plus 3.9% (Italy average 4.1%) with the first dose only. The third dose vaccination coverage rate is 65.3% (Italy average 70.8%).

Meanwhile, people hospitalized in intensive care drop to 40, as well as those hospitalized in other departments that drop to 429. However, there are 5,238 new infections (about 300 less than yesterday) and 8 deaths (10). Specifically, today in Fvg on 9,736 molecular swabs 1,199 new infections have been detected (12.32%). There are also 23,997 rapid antigenic tests carried out, from which 4,039 cases (16.83%) were detected.

The most affected age group is 40-49 (19.17%).
