Ambush in the Nuorese area: autopsy, shot with 8 shots

(ANSA) – NUORO, 22 JAN – The funeral of Tonino Corrias, the 59-year-old farmer shot dead on Thursday morning, under the house in the center, will take place today at 3.30 pm in the parish of Sant’Ignazio di Loyola in Oliena from the Nuorese town, inside his blue Ford Fiesta where he had just boarded to go to work in the countryside.

The autopsy on the farmer’s corpse was carried out yesterday by the Cagliari coroner Matteo Nioi and late in the evening the Prosecutor of Nuoro Ireno Satta, owner of the investigation, returned the body to the family.

It will be necessary to wait 90 days for the outcome of the report, but what appears clear is that the farmer was hit from behind by a shower of buckshot. Seven maybe eight shots counted by the neighbors and many shells left on the ground between via Massaua and via Depretis, all collected by the Ris of Cagliari.

Meanwhile, the investigations by the Carabinieri of the Nuoro Company led by Lieutenant Colonel Gianluca Graziani are proceeding at a fast pace. It is on the past of Corrias, who escaped death in two other ambushes in 2001 and 2015, that the investigators’ attention is focused. We are working to ascertain a possible link with the bloody feud of Oliena, which resulted from some kidnappings, which from 2001 to 2003 caused seven deaths. The feud also continued in the following years, culminating in 2010 with the murder of Luigino Congiu, brother of one of the kidnappers of the Roman businessman Ferruccio Checchi.

The military analyzes the contents of the cameras present in the Town Hall a few meters from the site of the ambush and other nearby buildings. The interrogations and checkpoints also continue in search of any clues that could solve the case. (HANDLE).
