(ANSA) – BOLZANO, JANUARY 28 – The last of the 1,376 complaints against Karl Bär, the green German parliamentarian accused in Bolzano in a trial on pesticides, was also withdrawn. In 2017, the councilor for agriculture Arnold Schuler and a large number of South Tyrolean farmers had sued Bär, who at the time was a representative of the Umweltinstitut in Munich, for some allegations and initiatives against the use of pesticides in apple orchards. In the meantime, however, Schuler and all the other peasants had withdrawn and today even the last of them so far adamant. Then the crime of defamation is extinguished but the crime of counterfeiting the Alto Adige trademark, used at the time for one of the environmental initiatives, continues. At this point the trial could go to sentence with the next hearing set for May 6.
