(ANSA) – TURIN, JAN 28 – The funeral of Fatima, the three-year-old girl who died falling from a building in the center of the Piedmontese capital, took place this morning in the chapel of Mary Help of Christians. Next to the white coffin, the child’s mother, embraced in the churchyard by the mayor, Stefano Lo Russo. Also in question are the lawyers of the mother and those of Azhar Mohssine, the stepfather in prison for the murder of the child, who would have slipped from his hands during a tragic game.
“In moments like these, words are superfluous in front of a white coffin. Fatima teaches us to be purer and better. To become children again”, said the parish priest during the homily. Upon leaving the church of the coffin, the child’s teachers, Luisa, Giuliana and Alice, made white balloons fly into the sky. “Fatima little angel flies as high as you can”, the text of their card. “She was a sweet, pretty and beautiful child – they said in tears -. Knowing of her death was a bolt from the blue”.
Fatima will be buried in the Mappano cemetery. (HANDLE).
