(ANSA) – TRIESTE, 06 FEB – The Slovenian citizen motorist who yesterday entered the Trieste motorway junction (RA13) in the wrong direction colliding with a car that was proceeding in the right direction and whose driver is dead, would have traveled tens of kilometers, maybe thirty, in the wrong direction. Probably already in Sesana (Sezana, Slovenia) he would have started the wrong maneuver. He, a 49-year-old man, born in Koper (Capodistria) but, apparently, residing in the Comeno area (Komen, Slovenia), a few kilometers from the Fernetti border, was driving a dark-colored minivan seems to be proceeding to very fast speed, 150, maybe even 170 kilometers per hour.

In the head-on collision in the overtaking lane on the Trieste ring road, at Duino (Trieste), the car that was proceeding in the right direction caught fire and the driver died charred. It is a 56-year-old Romanian woman who moved to Italy ten years ago, who lived in the province of Treviso and who was due to get married in a few months and who was traveling to Trieste to spend the weekend with her partner. She was the mother of children living in Germany.

The Slovenian citizen, without calling for help, ran away on foot for a kilometer on the highway in a confused state, beat his fists on an ambulance that he crossed and was finally blocked by the Gorizia Police, as evidenced by a video posted on the social and identified by Tg Rai Fvg. Positivity to alcohol or drugs would not have been detected. Investigators are examining every hypothesis about the case, including those of a psychological nature. (HANDLE).
