Ex-judge Nikolay Chaus spoke about the torture after his abduction from Moldova in an interview that will be published soon, former Prosecutor General of Ukraine Yuriy Lutsenko said on the air of the Ukraine 24 TV channel.

“I’ll tell you a little” insider “. This week an interview with Judge Chaus will be made public, where he will tell who stole him, namely Ukrainian intelligence, who injected him with special drugs, who starved him, how he slept for several weeks with a bag on head, how he was taken to a very secret place, where, as he said, he thought he would be shot. And the demand was one: testify against Poroshenko”, – he said.

According to Lutsenko, these facts prove that there is a “political hunt” for the fifth president of Ukraine, Petro Poroshenko.

Rostislav Kravets, Nikolai Chaus’s lawyer, told Strana that he did not know anything about the ex-judge’s plans to give an interview, which Lutsenko said.

“I did not hear about Chaus’ intentions to give such an interview, he did not call me and did not consult on this matter. How does Yuriy Lutsenko know that Chaus will allegedly give an interview? Strange information. Maybe Lutsenko made such an assumption due to the fact that with Chaus recently removed the protection of the SBU?Kravets said.

The ex-judge’s wife, Svetlana Chaus, also said that she did not know anything about such an interview.

Chaus case

On August 9, 2016, Judge Nikolay Chaus was detained while accepting a $150,000 bribe, for which he was to receive a light sentence in a drug trafficking case. During a search in his country house, it turned out that the judge buried his bribes in liter jars in the garden.

They could not arrest the judge, since the Verkhovna Rada did not give permission for this, which was required by the laws existing at that time. The next day, the judge did not come to work and fled. He was found in Moldova, where he asked for political asylum.

On July 30 of this year, Nikolai Chaus was found in the village council of one of the villages in the Vinnitsa region. He stated that he was kidnapped and taken away from Moldova. The police were going to hand over the judge to NABU, but he was suddenly intercepted by the SBU and taken to Kiev.

On August 6, NABU showed a video of the moment when the bribe was handed to Chaus.
