(ANSA) – FLORENCE, 08 FEB – Beaten by her partner and saved by police officers, who showed up at her house pretending to deliver a pizza and arrested the man, a 34-year-old, for mistreatment in the family. The story happened last night in a condominium on the outskirts of Florence. According to what was reconstructed, the victim would have been beaten by her partner with punches and slaps because she had been late in giving him a pillow to put on the sofa. To try to stop the attack, the woman called the operations center of the police headquarters but then, in a panic, she was unable to ask for help, providing only her home address, but wrong.
However, the operator, having realized that something was wrong, called back and, pretending to have to deliver pizzas at home, asked for the address of the house. The woman, recognizing the voice of the policeman, understood that she would be saved and was able to give the right address. Based on what has been reconstructed, the violence would have been going on for years, at least since 2019, even when she was pregnant and then in front of her two young children. Her partner, of North African origin, would also have come to put out cigarettes on her. She would never report for fear of retaliation. Also according to the reconstruction of the police, the woman in the last period would have lived practically segregated at home due to the jealousy of the man, who made her go out only 15 minutes a day to go and take her eldest son to school.
