The conversation between President Vladimir Putin and Israeli Prime Minister Naftali Bennett ended in the Kremlin, who flew by surprise to Moscow during the day. The meeting lasted about 3 hours: on the table, according to political sources reported by the media, the conflict in Ukraine, the situation of the Jewish communities following the conflict itself and also the possible agreement in Vienna on Iran’s nuclear power to which – as it is known – Israel is opposed. Of the visit to Russia – Bennett is the first Western leader to go to Moscow after the outbreak of the war – Israel, according to sources, has previously warned the US, Germany, France and has been “in constant contact” with the Ukraine. Israel in recent days has held a position considered to be median: while condemning, as Foreign Minister Yair Lapid did, the invasion of Ukraine and voting against the UN, Bennett has always maintained the line with Moscow with which, among the other, it has security coordination over Syria.

Prime Minister Naftali Bennett at the end of the 3-hour conversation with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Moscow is flying to Berlin where he is awaited by German Chancellor Olaf Scholz. Israeli public TV says so. Bennett and Scholz had already met in Jerusalem on Wednesday.

At the end of the conversation with Putin, Bennett phoned Ukrainian President Zelensky from Moscow. The Israeli media reported it.
