As the Federal Ministry of Transport announced on Sunday on request, the traffic cameras of the federal Autobahn GmbH are currently not available “due to the current security policy developments in Europe”.

The VMZ therefore confirmed that the war in Ukraine was the background for this. “Road traffic in Lower Saxony is also affected by the effects of the conflict,” a spokesman was quoted as saying.
At the beginning of March, the SWR wrote, citing a spokesman for the Baden-Württemberg Ministry of Transport, that the cameras had not been switched off, only that pictures were no longer published on the Internet.
