(ANSA) – VATICAN CITY, APRIL 05 – “I want to ask the governments of all the countries of the world not to forget that a good health service, accessible to all, is a priority”.

Pope Francis says this in the video message with the intentions of prayer that this month are dedicated to health personnel. “I also want to remember, however, that the health service is not just an organization, but includes men and women who dedicate their lives to taking care of each other’s health, and who during this pandemic gave their lives to help. so many sick people to get well “, underlines the Pontiff.

“We pray that the commitment of health personnel in assisting sick people and the elderly, especially in the poorest countries, will be supported by governments and local communities”, is the Pope’s appeal to the faithful of the world.

Francis reiterates that “the pandemic has shown us the dedication and generosity of health personnel: volunteers, health workers, priests, men and women religious. This pandemic, however, has also highlighted the fact that not everyone has access to a good public health system. The poorest countries, the most vulnerable countries, cannot access the treatments necessary to tackle the many diseases that continue to afflict them. Many times – the Pope concludes – this is due to poor management of resources and the lack of a serious political commitment “. (HANDLE).
