(ANSA) – BARI, MAY 01 – “I feel like dedicating this May 1 holiday to all workers, but also to those who don’t have work, to those who have lost it and to those who have stopped looking for it. they must continue to look for it, because work is not only a source of income but also a form of emancipation and freedom “. This was stated by the mayor of Bari and president Anci Antonio Decaro on the occasion of 1 May, participating in the deposition of a floral wreath near the plaque commemorating Giuseppe di Vittorio, in the old city of Bari, among flags of peace, as part of the initiatives promoted by the CGIL.
“Thanks to the associations and trade unions we can remember these moments – said Decaro -, remember that there were women and men who fought and some even sacrificed their lives for the rights of workers, for emancipation. Rights that even today they are not so obvious and therefore it is right to keep remembering, and finally after two years of restrictions we are back to living together these moments of collective memory “.
