(ANSA) – TORRE ANNUNZIATA, 05 MAY – The Municipality of Torre Annunziata, one of the most important and densely populated in the province of Naples, was dissolved ‘also’ for mafia infiltration. For the body of the Vesuvian city, already interested in an investigation that had seen the involvement of the mayor Vincenzo Ascione, other administrators, managers and public officials and for whom an access commission sent by the prefect of Naples had worked for a verification of the documents produced, this is the second decree of dissolution in just two and a half months, after the one of a strictly political nature generated by the mass resignation following the investigation that had among the suspects also the first citizen Vincenzo Ascione (arrived at his aimed at resigning his mandate last February 16).

Since mid-March the Municipality of Torre Annunziata has already been governed by the prefectural commissioner Antonio D’Acunto. Due to the dissolution due to mafia infiltrations, the Vesuvian city will not be affected, as it would have happened after the first dissolution, by the vote for the administrative offices scheduled for next 12 June. The senator of the mixed group Sandro Ruotolo intervened on the decision of the Council of Ministers: ” It is – he says – a due act. An administration already hit by investigations and arrests for serious corruption. In Torre Annunziata it is time to give a signal of change. There are 18 months to rebuild a credible ruling class with rigor and transparency ”. (HANDLE).
