Discover the composition of the first government of Elisabeth Borne

After several days of suspense, the first government of Elisabeth Borne was revealed on Friday afternoon, announced the secretary general of the Élysée Alexis Kohler. A total of 17 ministers, six deputy ministers and four state secretaries were called. Bruno the Mayor was named number 2 in the government of Elisabeth Borne in which he was reappointed as Minister of Economy and Finance. Other regal ministers reappointed, Gerald Darmanin was confirmed to the Interior and the Keeper of the Seals Eric Dupond-Moretti will sue, he said.

Former Chiraquian minister Catherine Colonna, who until then was France’s ambassador to the United Kingdom, was appointed Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs on Friday, the Elysée informed. Clement BeauneMinister Delegate for Europe, retains his functions, as well as Frank RiesterMinister Delegate in charge of Foreign Trade and Attractiveness.

Ndiaye appointed to National Education

The historian Pap Ndiaye was appointed Minister of National Education and Youth, replacing Jean-Michel Blanquer who remained at the head of the rue de Grenelle for five years. This 55-year-old French academic, specialist in the social history of the United States and minorities was until now at the head of the French National Museum of the History of Immigration. The school is one of the three major projects of Emmanuel Macron’s new five-year term.

Amelie de Montchalin and Agnes Pannier-Runacher were appointed Minister for Ecological Transition and Territorial Cohesion and Minister for Energy Transition on Friday respectively, two priority projects for the new Prime Minister. They were respectively Minister of Transformation and the Public Service and Minister of Industry in the outgoing government of Jean Castex.

Abad Minister of Solidarity

Olivier Dussopt, former Minister of Public Accounts, was appointed Minister of Labour, Full Employment and Integration. At 43, the former socialist has among his missions the ambitious goal of “full employment” in 2027 set by Emmanuel Macron for his second five-year term.

The former boss of LR deputies Damien Abad was appointed Minister of Solidarity, Autonomy and People with Disabilities on Friday. This appointment confirms the speculation that had been running for several days concerning a rapprochement of the deputy of the presidential majority. Damien Abad, 42, announced Thursday that he was leaving his post as president of the LR group in the Assembly and that he was going “on leave” from his party, at the insistence of LR boss Christian Jacob.
