“Ukraine must not lose but Russia will not lose” either, assures Henri Guaino

Questioned by Sonia Mabrouk, Henri Guaino, former French deputy and ex-special adviser to Nicolas Sarkozy, returned to the war that has been raging in Ukraine for almost 100 days. “Ukraine must not lose, but on the other hand, Russia will not lose,” he said.

According to him, Russia will not lose “because it has thousands of nuclear warheads, because no one will go to war in Russia, because it can hold out for a very long time”.

Towards a nuclear war?

According to the former deputy, to lead to the fall of Russia, “the West would have to go to war”. “The risk is that the spiral of war will end up making its hole in this situation. I don’t think it’s actually thinkable that Russia will really lose,” he analyzes at the microphone of Europe 1.

In the event of a defeat, Russia would become “the most dangerous country in the world, exactly like Germany after 1918”, adds Henri Guaino. For him, if Western countries really think that Russia constitutes a threat then “it must be said today we are going to war, not war by proxy, not war indirectly, we are going to war and it will be a war First, it will be a European war, a nuclear war and a direct confrontation between the West and Russia”.
