The turnout of the referendums on justice, which was below 21%, the lowest figure ever, was however positively affected by the driving force of the municipal elections. Even if many have put blank or invalid ballots in the urn. This is what is obtained from the analysis of the data of the Interior Ministry, which see the Liguria region at the head (28.2%) for turnout, with Molise and Trentino Alto Adige as tail (around 13%).

In the capital cities, the center is driving the turnout data, with Frosinone at the top (62.49%), while on the contrary it is Genoa with 38.07% to close the ranking. Of course, in some cases there is a large gap between those who voted for the mayor and those for the referendum: in Frosinone the difference is 10 points in favor of the administrative ones.

According to an analysis by Youtrend, excluding the municipalities in which the municipal votes were also voted, the turnout for the referendums was 14.7%. A concrete example of this analysis are the results of Trentino Alto Adige and Valle d’Aosta where there were no municipal offices and the turnout was 13% and 16.5% respectively.
