The Parliament of Kiev, the Verkhovna Rada, has approved a bill that provides for a ban on the import and distribution of volumes and editorial products from Russia, Belarus and “temporarily occupied territories” and those in Russian also from other countries. According to Ukrinform, the text, presented by Prime Minister Denis Shmygal last May 11, provides for the resolution of the agreement between the government of Ukraine and the government of the Russian Federation on scientific and technical cooperation.
Another bill was passed to impose “an absolute and indefinite ban on public performance, public screening, public demonstration” of “singers who after 1991 were citizens of the attacking state”.
