The visit of the President of the Republic was organized in anticipation of the UN World Day Against Drug Abuse and Trafficking which this year will have as its theme: “Share Facts On Drugs, Save Lives”.
On the theme of the day, Mattarella reiterated the fact that “the event contains two messages: the fight against traffic, that ignoble horrible activity that tries to drag young people into losing the fullness of their freedom and their future in order to earn profits. It is one of the ugliest phenomena in the history of humanity and the other message is the fight against abuse and consumption, therefore attention to people: remove, contrast, recover from life to the fullness of life and one’s freedom many people, and when this succeeds, as it often does, it is a great contribution to civilization and humanity “.
