Manon Aubry was the guest of Europe 1 this Wednesday morning. At the microphone of Lionel Gougelot, the deputy of rebellious France returned to the case of Imam Hassan Iquioussen. Gérald Darmanin had announced the forthcoming expulsion of this preacher born in France but of Moroccan nationality. A mistake for Manon Aubry, who believes that it is necessary above all to stick to the rule of law.
Following the controversy surrounding the request for the expulsion of Imam Hassan Iquioussen, Manon Aubry calls for wisdom. Gérald Darmanin had announced the forthcoming expulsion of this preacher born in France but of Moroccan nationality. He is accused by the French authorities of having made anti-Semitic, homophobic and “anti-women” remarks during sermons or conferences, held almost twenty years ago for some. But, the administrative court decided to suspend his expulsion. A decision to which Manon Aubry “stands”.
“Darmanin has made this story a vulgar communication sequence”
“In a state of law, when we make unspeakable remarks, a call to hatred against women’s rights, as this imam did, we must be condemned by justice”, recalls the deputy of rebellious France on Europe 1. “I hope so and I hope that there will be trials in this area,” she adds.
Manon Aubry believes that we must be “quite firm in this matter” and says she regrets that the Minister of the Interior Gérald Darmanin “made this story a vulgar communication sequence”.
