From 5 September in South Tyrol and gradually in all Regions, we will return to school and based on recent indications received from‘Higher Institute of Health and from Ministry of Education, the only substantially mandatory anti-Covid provision: that of keeping the windows open. The other obligations – vaccinations, masks, distances, continuous sanitation, etc. – remain an eventuality. However, one in three teachers already today considers one inevitable new vaccination in the fall should the number of new Covid cases exceed the alert level.

In this case, one in two teachers also considers the return of the mask to be worn by law during the course of the lessons. The double indication comes from a national survey carried out by the School Technique on the methods of returning to class and the possible evolution of the pandemic from Covid-19.

Examining the 1,759 responses received, it appears that almost 7 out of 10 teachers they say they are opposed to the possibility that we can return tovaccination obligation (which for 90% of cases means fourth dose of vaccine), even if in autumn the infections should start to grow again.

Percentage that does not differ much from that which includes parents and students, who express themselves negatively to an even greater extent: among the families of the students and the same students who responded to the survey, almost 8 out of 10 said no.

As for the hypothesis that with the rise of the infections it can also come back into vogue the obligation to wear a mask, teachers are more likely: one in two teachers (49.9%) expresses favorably towards the obligation to wear a mask, a device evidently perceived to be more useful than annoying, always if we should suffer a resurgence of the pandemic. Parents and students, on the other hand, are more skeptical about the forced reintroduction of protective devices: 66.5% of the interviewees say ‘no’ to the return of the mask, compared to 31.4% who express themselves in favor.
