Carlo Calenda presents the counter-maneuver of the Third Pole to the Senate: eight proposals on taxation, welfare and development which, with the same coverage, “offer real answers to the country”. Certainly it must be recorded that during the same press conference, with a double move, Calenda had also opened up to a thematic convergence with Pd and M5s in Parliament to bring home the minimum wage (inserted between the points of his countermaneuver and also present in the program of the other two parties). “I hope so”, replies the group leader of the M5s in the Chamber Francesco Silvestri while the pentastellato leader, Giuseppe Conte, opens and claims: “On the minimum wage I have presented a proposal since the first day: therefore in Parliament if other forces join It’s good. We’ll see.” And the dems, applauding the opening, raise the coordination of the oppositions: “Let there be at least on the issues”. “The proposal of the M5s is very clear”, faced with “those who want to support the battle of the minimum wage, I am the happiest in the world”, comments Silvestri in Transatlantico. The deputy secretary of the Democratic Party, Peppe Provenzano, defines the minimum wage as “a real emergency for the country” and hopes that “starting from the issues, political reasonableness will prevail: to be more effective, the opposition must collaborate and coordinate – the dem insists -. on politics, at least on concrete issues”. Whether all of this will translate into effective parliamentary synergy remains to be seen. But – in words – the intentions of the three main minority political forces are on record. On the methods of opposing the maneuver, however, the recipes remain very different: the Democratic Party announced, on December 17, the first national demonstration against the budget; the 5-star Movement is evaluating its initiatives without committing itself to a possible common square; Action and Iv prefer to insist on the issues in Parliament.
Calenda says it in Roman jargon: “I couldn’t care less about the financial demonstrations”.
