Study by the Adenauer Foundation: Many Germans accept gas and nuclear energy as an interim solution

Which energy mix do Germans prefer until the energy demand can be covered by renewable energies? The Konrad Adenauer Foundation recently surveyed a good 1,500 people in a study.

According to this, gas is considered suitable for “interim use” by half of Germans. Nuclear energy follows in second place, with 44 percent in favor of continued use until renewables cover energy requirements.

28 percent can imagine nuclear energy being used more. While 53 percent of men can imagine using nuclear energy in the meantime, 35 percent of women see it that way.

Coal follows in third place, with 25 percent of the opinion that it should be used more or equally. (tsp)
