Primaries underway, the leader of the Democratic Party is chosen between Bonaccini and Schlein

Today we vote to choose the new top of the Democratic Party among Stefano Bonaccini And Elly Schlein. The unknown turnout hangs over the vote. The 5,550 polling stations will remain open from 8 to 20 throughout Italy. 12,735 registered on the platform will vote away from home, 1,617 minors, while 1,235 foreigners residing in Italy.

At the request of the Provincial Commissioner of the PD of Syracuse, Sen. Antonio Nicita, today throughout Italy during the voting operations in the gazebos for the party primaries, a minute of silence will be observed, at 12, to remember the deaths at work in starting from yesterday’s latest in Avola, where a young worker lost his life on a construction site.

The president of the Emilia-Romagna Region Stefano Bonaccini voted in the morning at the party club of his country, Campogalliano, near Modena. In the evening, Bonaccini will await the results at the headquarters of the Casa dei Popoli in Casalecchio di Reno (Bologna), the same choice made on the occasion of the regional ones in January 2020.

“Let’s hope it’s a big turnout celebration, we get images of polling stations around Italy where there have been queues since this morning, even in places where it’s raining. At a time when abstention has reached very high peaks both at both at regional and regional level, the democratic community is giving a great demonstration of participation and democracy”. This was said by Elly Schlein who voted around 11 in the polling station in via Mentana, in the center of Bologna.

“The gazebos are open. Happy voting to all. Proud of a community that decides its own future with democracy and participation”. The secretary of the Pd writes it on Twitter, Enrico Lettaon primary school day.
