According to information collected by Europe 1, a police officer who intervened this Monday morning on a picket in Aubervilliers filed a complaint against the rebellious deputy after having, according to his version, received a punch in the face. According to the first elements, he benefited from a day of temporary interruption of work.

The tone went up a notch this Monday morning on the Aubervilliers dump truck garage in Seine-Saint-Denis, where the Veolia site is requisitioned by the State. The police intervened to be able to ensure that the trucks could freely enter and exit. According to information from Europe 1, the deputies Nupes Éric Coquerel and Bastien Lachaud also went there in support of the blockage.

According to a source close to the case, an altercation took place with the police. The chairman of the Finance Committee of the National Assembly was not arrested. But back at the police station, one of the police officers filed a complaint, accusing the parliamentarian of having punched him in the face. According to the first elements, he benefited from a day of temporary interruption of work (ITT).

Open investigation

In his three-page complaint that Europe 1 consulted, the police brigadier explains: “Mr. Coquerel had his fists closed at my face, he struck me with the back of his closed fist more precisely at the knuckles. I got hit on my left cheekbone. I then advised him that he had hit me. He said ‘No, I was going to fall'”. Then the policeman continues: “He never lost his balance”.

For his part, the relatives of Éric Coquerel have denied to Europe 1 any altercation with the police, as confirmed by the press release issued by the deputy Nupes. “I went to Aubervilliers this morning in support of the garbage collectors at the Véolia garage. As soon as I arrived, I found myself, with my colleague Bastien Lachaud, facing police officers who were strongly pushing back the demonstrators. The charge was such that it generated a strong jostling, during which I almost fell several times. I learned with amazement that a police officer had filed a complaint against me for willful violence against a person in charge of the police. I formally deny this accusation, “says- he.

The police officer who filed the complaint and several of his colleagues had activated their body camera. The images are being processed. According to a judicial source, an investigation was opened by the Bobigny prosecutor’s office on the charge of intentional violence against a person holding public authority, entrusted to territorial security.
