Pensions: Macron affirms that “the crowd” has “no legitimacy in the face of the people who express themselves through their elected officials”

Emmanuel Macron estimated Tuesday evening before the parliamentarians of his camp that it was necessary to “appease” and “listen to the anger” of the French after the disputed adoption of his pension reform by Parliament, while affirming that “the crowd” n had no “legitimacy” against elected officials. “A period opens before us where we must appease, calm, return to the field and listen to anger,” said the president, according to participants in this meeting. “What I am asking the Prime Minister is to reorganize the work of the government on this basis”, he added, calling on the “ministerial cabinets” to work “much more with the parliamentarians of the majority”.

“No alternative majority”

I ask,” Emmanuel Macron said again to defend the consultation carried out by the executive.
