Salvini: “Fazio at Discovery? His choice, it’s not a state affair”

“There is a free choice of a free conductor who has freely accepted an offer, which I hope will be substantial for him, from a private television station”. This was stated by Matteo Salvini, deputy premier and minister of infrastructure, regarding the passage of Fabio Fazio to Discovery. “I think Rai, just like the whole country, can count on many women and men who are equally capable, without anyone making it a matter of state”, she added.

“We are in a democracy, best wishes and good work”, commented Salvini, speaking on the sidelines of the event to launch the works of the Florence Av bypass. “I have so many building sites to work on – he said -, that the last thing I’m interested in doing is television listings…”.

“Politics should stay out of editorial choices as much as possible because they are something very delicate, but above all they must concern entertainment and information for citizens. In the final analysis, it is the citizens who choose”. The governor of Liguria Giovanni Toti said it on the sidelines of an institutional commitment, commenting on Fabio Fazio’s farewell to Rai after the non-renewal of the contract.

AND also Fiorello’s morning press review on Viva Rai2! spoke of Fabio Faziofollowing the announcement of the conductor’s farewell to Rai to switch to Discovery.
