Study potential malfunctions

François-Noël Buffet, chairman of the Senate law commission, has already made contact with Mickaëlle Paty. With Gérard Larcher, they have several ways of taking this request into account. Thus, they can request, for example, the setting up of hearings, the launching of a fact-finding mission or a commission of inquiry, even if this can prove to be particularly delicate as long as the judicial investigation is underway.

“Our first reaction was obviously a reaction of deep respect for what his brother went through. We just need to talk together so that we can try to respond as best as possible to his request in any case and there is no question of leaving his request unanswered at this stage”, explains François-Noël Buffet, president of the Senate law commission.

The Senate investigation should focus on the possible dysfunctions of the public authorities in this file. As a reminder, Mickaëlle Paty filed a complaint for failure to prevent a crime and failure to assist a person in danger.
