The turnout in the second round of regional and departmental elections stood at 12.66% Sunday at midday in mainland France, nearly seven points less than the regional elections of December 2015 (19.59%) and three points less than the departmental ones of March 2015 (15.72%), according to figures from the Ministry of the Interior.

This weak mobilization confirms the fears of a record abstention already recorded in the first round for this double ballot placed 10 months before the presidential election.
