27.89% participation at 5 p.m., one point more than in the 1st round

The turnout in the second round of regional and departmental elections stood at 27.89% Sunday at 5 p.m. This is one point higher than in the first round but in free fall compared to the regional ones of December 2015 and the departmental ones of March 2015.

The turnout in the second round of regional and departmental elections stood at 27.89% Sunday at 5 p.m. in mainland France. This is one point more than in the first round (26.72%) but in free fall compared to the regional ones of December 2015 (50.54%) and the departmental ones of March 2015 (41.92%). This weak mobilization confirms the fears of a record abstention already recorded in the first round for this double ballot placed 10 months before the presidential election, leaving doubt about its outcome, including in Paca where the duel is close between the RN and LR .

Estimations

It is estimated that the abstention from the closing of all polling stations will be almost identical to that of last Sunday. It is between 64.3 and 65.5% in the second round against 66.7% in the first round, according to estimates by Ifop Fiducial for TF1 / LCI, Elabe for BFM / RMC, Opinionway for CNews, Ipsos for France Télévisons Radio France and the Parliamentary Channel. The Harris Institute for M6 is the one that gives the lowest abstention at 64.3%.
