Quirinale: positive after vote in isolation at home or Covid hotel

Quirinale, Giovanni Donzelli (FdI):

The large positive voters at Covid will be able to get out of isolation only to vote and therefore they will have to indicate a house in Rome or a Covid hotel where to return to quarantine after each ballot. This is foreseen by the decree approved yesterday by the government, which asks the Chamber to communicate to the prefect of the capital the time slot in which the positives – which today would be about 35 – will be called to vote for the new President of the Republic, in the ‘drive in’ created outside Montecitorio.

According to various sources, the preparation of an ad hoc Covid hotel for parliamentarians and regional delegates who are positive or in quarantine is not being studied, but those who do not reside in Rome can apply to stay in one of the Covid hotels that already exist in the capital. . Alternatively, they must indicate “another suitable place to continue the period of isolation or quarantine” and then choose an apartment or even an adequate accommodation facility. In fact, those in quarantine will be able to go out only to vote in their own car or medical vehicle and then will have to return to their homes, if they do not want to violate the “prohibition” provided by the law to sleep or eat meals elsewhere.

The Quaestors of the Chamber have already indicated how to ask for special voting procedures. An email must be sent by 5pm tomorrow or on the eve of each subsequent vote, for those who find themselves positive at a later time. A release form must be attached to the email to agree to make one’s health condition “knowable”, as part of the voting procedures.

All the big voters will be measured the temperature at the entrance to Montecitorio: those over 37.5 will immediately take a quick swab and if negative they will be able to enter the Chamber to vote, if positive they will be sent to the ‘drive in’.
