Quirinale: farewell to the bieres, the cabins arrive

Quirinale, Barbara Lezzi:

Farewell to the bieres. In the Chamber at Montecitorio for the vote of the President of the Republic, the booths enter the scene. There are three, huge, one larger than the other two for wheelchair access, covered in red, they stand out in the center of the Hemicycle instead of the ‘bieres’ with vaulted roofs and curtains that were arranged before the Covid era between the benches of the government and that of the presidency. At their entrance, manned by the clerks who distribute the ballots to the big voters, there are three dispensers of disinfectant liquid.

The big voters in waiting take their seats, in groups of fifty, on the left-hand benches. They are called gradually with the loudspeaker from the Transatlantic where there is the crowd of the great occasions. To call the appeal today is Alessandro Colucci (Nci), while verifying that the summoned answer to the appeal is Alessandro Amitrano (M5S). To make sure that the voters duly sanitize their hands is the commissioner of Palazzo Madama Antonio De Poli.

President Fico is assisted in the Chamber by the general secretary of the Chamber, the councilor Fabrizio Castaldi, and by the officials of the Montecitorio Assembly service led by the councilor Danilo Santoro.
