Dieter Hallervorden lacks a feeling for equality

There are signal words that guarantee attention. For example: “Fire!” Whoever shouts this out loud does not mean a burning tea light. And shouldn’t if he doesn’t want to frighten and shock his fellow human beings unnecessarily.

Anyone who brings up the term “rape” in a debate ensures that he is heard. And that’s precisely why you should be sure of your choice of words. Actor Dieter Hallervorden was wrong in several ways when he equated the effort to formulate gender equality with “rape the German language”. This is how he put it when he presented the new schedule for his Schlosspark Theater.

This is not only worthy of criticism because Hallervorden was using it in an unnecessarily drastic way. But above all because with such a term, which describes a terrible crime, it would be appropriate not to misuse it at will. In addition, such an accusation is simply out of place, especially when it comes to people who stand up for equality of all genders.

Hallervorden certainly lacks the feeling for this. Because he was not even too good to draw the comparison, even “Nazis” and “Communists” had tried to develop the language “from above on command”. Ladies and gentlemen, on stage is going down for you: the level.
