(ANSA) – ROME, FEBRUARY 12 – In the United Arab Emirates, Francesco Laporta collapses on the “moving day” of the Ras Al Khaimah Classic golf course and slips from second to 37th place thanks to a partial of 74 (+2) out of a total of 209 (66 69 74, -7) hits. In the DP World Tour tournament, New Zealander Ryan Fox stretched to the top of the standings and, with a score of 197 (63 69 65, -19), now boasts a six-stroke advantage over a quartet of pursuers – all second with 203 (-13) – composed of the Polish Adrian Meronk, the Scotsman Scott Jamieson and the Spaniards Adri Arnaus and Pablo Larrazabal.
And if Fox – 35 years old from Auckland – has mortgaged his second career title on the circuit (the first came in 2019 in Australia), Laporta has thrown away the good things built in the first two laps. And if in the first nine holes of the third round he made two birdies, in the second he tripped first in a double bogey (followed by a birdie) and then closed his performance with three bogeys in the last four.
I also step back for Edoardo Molinari from Turin, 59 / o with 211 (-5), and for Nino Bertasio from Brescia, 68 / o with 212 (-4). (HANDLE).
