Beijing: the women’s slopestyle program skips the snow

(ANSA) – YANQING, 13 FEB – Qualifications for women’s freeski slopestyle have been postponed to tomorrow due to the heavy snowfall that affected the Zhangjiakou facilities, 180 km northwest of Beijing, with temperatures dropped to -15 degrees: 27 female skiers competing, including the blue Elisa Maria Nakab who fell in the free practice session without suffering serious consequences.

18-year-old freestyle star Eileen Gu, American by birth and competing for China, is the big specialty favorite having already won the title in big air last week in her Olympic debut. In addition to slopestyle, Gu is also aiming for the halfpipe.

The slopestyle qualifications will start tomorrow at 10:00 local time (3:00 in Italy), with the consequent postponement of the final, rescheduled for Tuesday at 9:30. (HANDLE).
