(See report at 2.22 pm) (ANSA) – BELGRADE, FEBRUARY 15 – Novak Djokovic admitted that the interview he gave to the Equipe last December when he was positive for covid was a huge mistake. “I would like to go back in time, so as not to make that mistake,” the world’s number one Serbian tennis player told the BBC. A further excerpt from the interview with the British broadcaster, released this morning, was announced in the evening by the Serbian media. Djokovic said he gave the interview to the French newspaper for various reasons. “First of all because I respect Equipe as one of the best sports media in the world. And I have known the journalist Franck Ramella for some time, and I have always had excellent relations with him, I did not want to betray him” – said Djokovic. “Should I have been more cautious? Should I have warned him? Absolutely.” (HANDLE).
