Rugby: 6 Nations Committee, no federation change hypothesis

(ANSA) – ROME, FEBRUARY 18 – There is no plan to exclude one of the federations whose national teams play the Six Nations, for the benefit of the inclusion of another.

This was stated in a joint statement in which “Six Nations Rugby, its six Federations and CVC (US investment fund that has a stake in the tournament ed) wish to specify that they are not engaging in discussions or developing any plans to add or replace a participating federation” .

“All the energies are currently concentrated on strategic discussions regarding the international windows of July and November – it is written in the press release – and the structure of the global season, to ensure a favorable outcome for the development of the game”.

The tournament format therefore remains the same, with the presence of England, Wales, Scotland, Ireland, France and Italy.
